I item straightnes my african hair at 220 it took 6 brushes, has a bit rubbey smell while hot, doesn't cool quick.over all it is real good for it's price. The box it came in was a bit smashed tho

If you are lazy and need to lower the volume, it will work for you, since it's not a straightener, so don't buy it if you expect straightener-like results... It worked wonders for me.
